A three-story apartment with original detailing and modern upgrades is on the market in Wimbledon, just outside of London. The development is situated on the grounds of what once was the ancestral home of the Second Duke of Wellington, a British soldier and politician. The apartment is nestled among 26 other luxury apartments as a part of the Wimbledon Hill Park development.

The original windows, high ceilings and coffered detailing were kept.

"In addition, the mansion’s brickwork is original," said Martha Collins, sales and marketing director of real estate developer Berkeley. "Berkeley’s team carefully repainted and cleaned the brickwork and restored the original brick arches, which create an impressive sense of grandeur for residents and guests."

The triplex overlooks gardens that are exclusive to residents of Wimbledon Hill Park, and protected parkland that is open to the public.

The floor-to-ceiling windows in the living and kitchen areas offer good opportunities to take in the outside. "In addition to providing stunning views across the landscaped gardens and parkland, they flood the rooms with light and create a real sense of space, always popular with buyers, especially in London where they are harder to come by," Ms. Collins said.

The triplex has 2,340 square feet of interior space, with three bedrooms, three full bathrooms and one half-bathroom.

Wimbledon Hill Park has gated underground parking, a gym, a library, a cinema room, a boardroom and concierge service. Every unit has either a balcony or a terrace.

The kitchen has a warming drawer and a wine cooler, a stone worktop, induction hob and steam oven.

"Every bathroom benefits from electric underfloor heating and recessed thermostatic controls," Ms. Collins said. "The master en-suite bath and shower rooms feature stone bath surrounds, deck-mounted controls and shower handset."
