WE'RE ALWAYS EXCITED when one of our favourite maximalists has a new project, so when images of Manhattan designer Miles Redd's latest work surfaced, naturally we couldn't wait to take a look. Redd was tasked with creating an old-fashioned environment for a young couple (with many children) in a San Francisco home built in the 1900's and newly renovated by architect Gil Schafer. The result is an utterly chic mix of textures and colours and antiques, well-worn Persian carpets, tufted velvet and leopard print; floral wallpaper, gilded mirrors and chandeliers ...

Artist Agustin Hurtado painted the ceiling of the entrance vestibule with a copy of the trompe l’oeil–tented room at Casa degli Atellani, as seen in the film I Am Love.
